Respetacble
performance
In 1960, Hurley Marine followed the bilge-keel route and started selling the Alacrity 19
(also marked by Russel Marine), This attractive little yacht started off as a
cold moulded plywood 18-footer, but then grow one foot and ‘went plastic’. Its
twin keels draw 1ft 10in and produce a 32% ballast ratio of 19, this means a
respectable level of performance for a twin-keeler, and a simple three-berth
cabin makes her an excellent little weekender. If you are consider a GRP
Silhouette, don’t forget to give the Alacrity a look.
